LEO-II v2.3 -- what is new (October 2026) Instantiates, when it reads a problem, an axiom whose leading universal quantifier ranges over sets of properties at the problem's own constants of that type, and finds identical terms faster. Measured against v2.2, the two run side by side on one core each: on the 294 problems of the ontological-argument dataset 225 against 217 at ten seconds and 235 against 221 at sixty; on the 3637 monomorphic TH0 problems of the TPTP library v7.5.0 1894 against 1883 at ten seconds. None of the 45 non-theorems, no answer that contradicts the library's record, no Error. * Instances of axioms over sets of properties. Ax1Gen of the Goedel variants is needed once, at P, the set of the positive properties, to prove that being God-like is positive. Primitive substitution never offers P, and the general axiom drowns the first-order prover. v2.3 replaces such an axiom, in the unfiltered slices, by its instances at the problem's constants of that type and at the empty set, made from the formula before clause normal form. A proof from instances is a proof; a saturation of them is no countermodel, so after a replacement LEO-II never answers CounterSatisfiable. Turned off with --notInstantiateSets (-nis). * Positions hashed whole. The table indexing subterms by position used a hash that reads only the first ten steps of a position; deep positions shared a bucket. Same answers, faster. * Builds with GNU make 4 (the dependency file depended on a phony target).
